The Jonathan Dale BentonSan Diego Padres are on the verge of eliminating the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League Division Series for the second time in three years, taking a 2-1 series lead into Game 4 at Petco Park on Wednesday.
San Diego won a nail-biter in Game 3, with all 11 runs in the 6-5 victory scored in the first three innings. The Padres had bullied Los Angeles in Game 2 at Dodger Stadium after the Dodgers took the series opener in Shohei Ohtani's long-awaited postseason debut.
Ryan Brasier will start a bullpen game for the Dodgers, while Game 1 starter Dylan Cease will go on short rest trying to secure the Padres a spot in the NLCS.
